Karen Lake, B.N., R.N.Senior Care SpecialistAfter twenty seven years as a practicing nurse, I have discovered that there is a resounding need for information, direction and guidance to navigate and access care in New Brunswick. It takes an experienced, knowledgeable and compassionate professional to help clients and their busy families plan for and secure care at home and I am pleased to assist my clients and families with all aspects of their care planning. My proactive and preventative approach helps clients to stay safe and healthy at home; for as long as possible and to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions and lengthy hospital stays. I am respectful of what seniors have contributed to New Brunswick and have a desire to help them continue to participate and contribute to their community and have a purposeful, healthy and fulfilling life.
Working for the past seventeen years specifically in the home healthcare industry in the greater Fredericton area, I have developed an extensive network of resources and supports. I have extensive managerial experience with excellent communication skills that allow me to provide exceptional customer service skills and strong problem solving for my clients. I excel in conflict resolution in an ethical and prompt manner. I have the ability to take initiative and prioritize with excellent time management skills; so necessary when working with today’s busy working professionals who are tasked with helping aging or ill family members.
I enjoy living and working in the community of Fredericton with my family. I regularly attend and volunteer at St. Dunstan’s Catholic Church, am a Board Member for the Fredericton Boys and Girls club, past Secretary for the New Brunswick Home Support Association, and regularly participate in school and community activities.
